We have over 20 beautiful horses of all shapes and sizes, so we can match you with the horse best suited to your age, experience and needs.
If you would like to learn how to ride properly, then lessons are the way to go for you. We offer 30 and 60 minute private lessons, as well as 60 minute shared/group lessons. For most primary school children and any adult starting out or coming back to riding after a long break, we recommend 30 minute lessons. Once you have built up your concentration and endurance, then 60 minute lessons are more suitable.
As well as riding our regular horses, very soon you will be able to book lessons on our mechanical and electronic horses. They are particularly good for working on your position or for practising a movement (all in the safety of the stable!).
Centennial Park rides are recommended if you would just like the experience of riding a horse, without going into riding technique. Park rides go for 30 minutes (across to Centennial Park and back) or 60 minutes (the full 3.8km circuit of Centennial Park).
If you’re buying a 30 minute Park Ride for children, up to three children can share the ride (eg each child rides for 10 minutes), at no extra cost, which is a great option to give your children a taste of riding. It’s particularly suitable for younger children with shorter concentration spans.
Suitable for children aged 2-5 years, Pony Leads take 15 minutes around the Equestrian Centre. These rides may be shared at no extra cost with two children, each one riding for half the time.
Does your child love ponies? Book a Pony Party with us in Centennial Park or at the Equestrian Centre. We provide the pony, the handler, helmets and boots, plus small horse-related items like horse pictures, magnets, stickers, pencils and discount vouchers for your party bags. Our Pony Parties can accommodate 5 or 6 children per hour for short rides.
We also have pony-themed party items such as invitations, serviettes, disposable cups and plates, party hats, whistles and bags available for purchase. Our ponies insist on dressing up for parties, so they look fabulous for your party photos!
Parties for older children
You are welcome to talk with us about designing a party to suit your horse-mad older child or teenager. They may also be interested in our Makeover Parties.
Tiny tots program
You can book 90 minute lunchtime sessions of horse-related activities for pre-schoolers. These are available on weekdays during school terms. The sessions are lots of fun and include games, finding out about horses, their gear, their food and how to look after them, as well as tiny tots riding.
School holiday camps
We run School Holiday Camps every week during the school holidays from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm. Children can come for one day (we recommend Mondays), a few days or for the whole week. In small, supervised groups, children learn how to groom and care for horses, including feeding, mucking out, tacking up, untacking. They also learn about horse behaviour and anatomy. Each day includes a group riding lesson plus a ride to Centennial Park. Lessons are graded, so that children ride with others of similar ability. Children also practise riding our electronic and mechanical horses.
Young Riders’ Program
Our Young Riders’ Program runs two and a half hour sessions, either Saturday or Sunday afternoons, during school terms. At each session, your child learns how to take care of horses and has a one hour group riding lesson. We build up each child’s riding skill and horse knowledge, while making sure that they also have lots of fun! Young Riders’ Program members also practise riding our mechanical and electronic horses.
