Vale Judith Marchant (25/9/44 - 9/12/09)
20 January 2010
All at CPEC were saddened by the sudden passing away of Judith (Judy) Marchant on Wednesday 9 December 2009 who had been a client at the Centre for more than a decade. A service was held at Eastern Suburbs Crematorium on Tuesday 15 December with so many in attendance that two rooms were filled.
Judy is survived by her son Ian, his partner Bron, her daughter Kylie and grandchild, Harvey (Ian's son).
Beautiful photographic memories of Judy were shown throughout the service with most being of her times at CPEC which her son, Ian said 'were the happiest days of her life'. He thanked the many CPEC clients at the service.
Judy's horse, Sienna St Clair ('Clair') has been cared for lovingly by CPEC agistment provider, John Leckie, has received complimentary feed by Macauthur Stockfeeds and has been exercised daily by Karin Ruscoe.
Clair has adapted to her new routine very well, is in magnificent condition and has commenced her new life in Dubbo close to where Ian lives. CPEC client, Marion Good, said Ian and Judy shared an incredibly close and strong relationship and that 'Ian being close to Clair means so much to him'. She added that 'Judy's memory will live on forever in all of hearts as she has no enemies, only loving friends, both human and equine'.
Ian writes:
'Mum would have been stoked to be in a copy of Happy Trails - she would have thought she was even more of a rock star than usual'.
For those of you who knew mum, you knew how wonderful a person she was and I would just like to take this opportunity to reiterate to everyone at the stables that she thought the world of you all. So many of you helped make mum the happiest I had ever seen her. Of course her happiness can also be attributed to Sienna St Clair, mum's horse and possibly the most spoilt horse in the world, and thankfully with the help of Pamela and Lee, she will continue to be so out here in Dubbo.
Mum's lifelong dream was to own and jump her own horse, thankfully she got to do this, many times.
Thank you so much for all the work everyone has put in, in particular to Pamela for helping Clair find a fantastic new home, Karin for keeping Clair fit, John, Marion, Shelley and Sigrid for support and Yvette for her wonderful reading at mum's funeral.
If I have missed anyone I am truly sorry, but know that I appreciate your work, as would my mum.
Although it is such a sad loss, as hard as it is I'm trying not to dwell on the negatives, mum wouldn't have wanted that. I picture the smile of her face after a ride or a fall and concentrate on her positivity. It is a time to reflect on how lucky we all are, we all still have our health, horses and I'm sure, fond memories of mum'.
