Independent Instructors announced at Equestrian Centre

Eleven new equestrian instructors – including former Olympic coaches, Australian riders and the current National Showjumping Champion – have been announced as the official independent instructors at Centennial Parklands Equestrian Centre (CPEC) in Sydney.

The new instructors have been selected following a nationwide competitive selection process for the CPEC training programs, beginning in March 2009. The instructors are available to anyone interested in casual lessons or more comprehensive coaching programs, tailored for all levels of experience from enthusiastic beginners to elite riders.

‘We are thrilled to have attracted such a high calibre group of coaches,’ said Steve Corbett, Director and Chief Executive of Centennial Parklands. ‘This is an unparalleled opportunity for the young to the experienced riders across Sydney to learn from some of the country’s best instructors - and at a convenient venue just minutes from the Sydney CBD.’

The new instructors include:

• Chris Chugg: one of Australia’s elite jumping riders and the current National Champion
• Judy Dierks: Australian Team member at the World Equestrian Games in The Hague,1994
• Gillian Rickard: World Equestrian Games representative and former head coach of the Australian Dressage Team at the 2004 Paralympics.

These new independent instructors will complement the services provided by our five existing on-site riding schools which have been providing instruction for the beginner to intermediate level rider for some years,’ said Ms Dee Vodden, Manager Centennial Parklands Equestrian Centre.

‘All of the CPEC schools have experienced staff and safe, well trained horses and ponies to suit all ages and levels of experience.’

CPEC is Sydney’s most central and convenient equestrian facility, less than five kilometres from the Sydney CBD in the former Moore Park Showgrounds.
