Feed Bins

15 October 2009

At CPEC we have a comprehensive rodent control plan which includes regular visits by a rodent control company, however without the co-operation of all CPEC clients in keeping feed areas clean and storing all feed in lidded bins we will continue to experience the problem. If you do not already have a feed bin with a lid, please organise to purchase one and do not store feed in bags on the floor.

A suggestion from one of our clients in reducing the risk of rats nesting in hay is to place hay on a pallet which is covered with a tarpaulin. She claims this reduces the risk of rats burrowing in from the ground and nesting.

There has also been an increasing number of members eating in Tack Rooms and failing to clean up after themselves, this also provides feed for rats.

Your co-operation in helping keep the Centre clean and adhering to these suggestions is much appreciated.
