A visit to Sydney is not complete without a horse ride in Centennial Park!
Centennial Park is one of the few parks in the world to offer inner-city horse riding. A Park Ride is an enjoyable and relaxing way to witness the extraordinary splendour of Centennial Park – a peaceful sanctuary teeming with history, birdlife and beauty.
What is a Park Ride?
Centennial Park has a dedicated equestrian track which provides a one-hour circuit of the Park. Park Rides start and finish at the Equestrian Centre which is located just adjacent to the Park. No experience is necessary and you will be guided through Centennial Park on horseback with a professional instructor.
What will you see?
You will go past the Federation Pavilion – an important historical monument where Australia became one nation in 1901. You will see magnificent birdlife, both water birds and land birds, with over 120 natives species recorded here. You will see spectacular Australian trees and seasonal floral displays. You will ride past eight of our picturesque ponds that are much loved by the people of Sydney. Not to mention magnificent views and vistas of the Sydney skyline and the park itself.
Where do you go?
The Equestrian Centre is located just five kilometres from the city and is easily accessible via Sydney’s network of buses and trains. Once there you will meet your instructor. All equipment is provided so you will be fitted for boots and helmets. You will be introduced to one of the well-trained horses, matched to your riding experience. After your Park Ride, you may wish to further explore Centennial Park to relax and enjoy this special place.
